On Tuesday 23rd April, we held our first SOLSTICE workshop, Spring. Read on to see what this wonderful day involved and to see some of the floral arrangements and installations created on the day and more.

Held in the iconic Ballroom of Cornwell Manor, situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, the Spring workshop gave attendees the opportunity to be immersed in seasonal creativity whilst providing them with supportive, expert tuition during a full day of practical floristry.

Floral design workshop

The day began with a welcome over tea and coffee, and the chance for attendees to meet each other in a relaxed and unintimidating environment. Our co-founder Jen then led a demo on how to design in our Low Bowls, using foam-free sustainable mechanics and a wide selection of locally grown seasonal British flowers.

Attendees then had the chance to design their own arrangements in our GAIA Low, Little and Mini Bowls, each making pieces which would form part of the wider tablescape setup at the end of the day.

Lunch at floral design workshop

A delicious lunch was served by local caterer Miss Ingredient, featuring the finest seasonal ingredients which we all enjoyed with glasses of English sparkling wine.

Over lunch, we held an informal business Q&A, where attendees had the opportunity to discuss their business status, challenges and hopes for the future.

As we moved into the afternoon, it was time for the attendees to tackle a large scale installation, with half the group moving up to the balcony and the other half designing the floor arrangements.

Floral design installation

Attendees designed a variety of pieces in our GAIA Runners, demonstrating how shape, texture, height, depth and perspective are all important to consider when creating florals to fill a large space.

Throughout the day, Cotswolds and destination photographer Chloe Ely was on hand to capture the details of the larger build, whilst also snapping personal portfolio shots for each of the attendees.

Jen and Jess then brought all the individual pieces together to form a beautiful
tablescape design, with the balcony installation acting as the perfect backdrop. This was a truly beautiful day full of learning and growing together!

Join us for our next SOLSTICE Summer floral design workshop, which will be announced and available to book very soon.
