SOLSTICE Summer Workshop - SOLD OUT
Introducing our second SOLSTICE floral design workshop… Summer
Taking place in August in the golden fields of Somerset, this interactive workshop is designed to guide you through a transformational process to help you clearly define your goals and identify the tools you need to proactively push your business forward.
Join us at Compton Garden Flowers in the idyllic village of Compton Dando, located between Bath and Bristol, for a full day of practical floristry tuition and business inspiration. Our workshop will be led by our co-founder Jen from Liberty Lane Flowers, an experienced wedding and event florist working across the UK and Europe; and Sarah Wilson, an ex-management consultant turned flower grower and the owner of Compton Garden Flowers.
Date: Tuesday 20th August 2024
Location: Compton Garden Flowers, Compton Dando, Somerset
Price: £650
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is for accomplished floral designers who are looking to grow and scale their floristry businesses. The day will be especially useful to those who are ready to take their business to the next level, but are seeking the guidance, support and practical tools to do so.
What will the workshop consist of?
The day will begin at 9.30am and finish at approximately 4.30pm. Jen will lead your floristry tuition, and you will spend the first part of the day creating seasonal and abundant table arrangements using exquisite flowers cut from Sarah’s cutting patch. We will design in GAIA vessels which we will use to dress our idyllic lunch table, set in the field, and these will be yours to take home with you at the end of the day.
We invite you to come with an open and inquisitive mind to see where our discussion takes you, and we hope you feel even more inspired as you walk through the flower field, snipping some special stems for your arrangements , and taking time for yourself to think and dream about what could be possible for your business.
In the afternoon, Sarah will lead a session on “transformation mapping”; the process Jen and Jess have been using, (with Sarah’s expert knowledge!) to define a clear strategy for GAIA for our next five years of business. This will be an individual activity but set in a safe, confidential space which allows for uninhibited growth and reflection.
Our aim is that you will leave our day together feeling not only inspired and excited, but with a clear process that you can take forward, revisiting and repeating periodically as your goals become closer and your goalposts shift.
UK and NZ photographer Emily Rose Hamilton will be in attendance to capture the day in full, as well as personal portfolio shots for each attendee. Hi-res imagery from the day will be made available to all attendees following the event for use in their portfolios and on social media.
A delicious British grazing table will be provided by local caterer Wild Fig and hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day.
How much does the workshop cost?
A ticket to attend the workshop costs £650 per person. Payments can be made in two parts; with a £250 deposit being paid now via the website and the remainder of the payment being taken via invoice in July.
How do I secure my place?
There are 12 spaces available for this workshop. You can book your place on the day by simply adding a ticket to your basket and paying your deposit at checkout. You can read the full terms regarding payments, refunds and exchanges here.
What else do I need to know?
All tuition, demonstration, flowers, foliage and sundries, (including your own GAIA vessel to take home) will be provided for you, but we encourage you to bring your favourite pair of snips or secateurs.
