Description

Introducing the first in our series of SOLSTICE workshops for 2026… GAIA x Trille Floral.

Taking place in March in Bath Spa, this event is our latest offering of seasonal, collaborative workshops with some of the world’s leading international florists.

Cara Fitch is the owner of Trille Floral, a design studio based in New Brunswick, Canada. Cara’s exquisite signature style of ‘artful floristry’ has taken her all over the world, both working and teaching classes in New York, Paris, Seoul, Sydney, Bordeaux, Kuala Lumpur, Sintra and Chicago, to name a few.

Join us as we host two distinctive workshop days led by Trille Floral that will immerse you in expert tuition as you embrace the opportunity to learn new floristry styles, designs and techniques.

Day 1 – Signature bouquets and centrepieces, followed by a Q&A session on how Cara built her brand and business.

Day 2 – Large scale floral design: floral arch, ground florals and overhead installation.

Please note: each day is sold as a separate and individual workshop. If you would like to attend more than one day, please ensure that you add these individually into your basket.

Date: 17th and 18th March

Location: The Orangery at Minerva Vines, Bath

Who are the workshops for?

These workshops are for floral designers of all levels of experience and ability who enjoy natural, seasonal and abundant styles of floristry. They will be especially useful to those looking to challenge themselves and re-energise their love of natural floral design through fresh thinking and different approaches.

What will the workshops consist of?

Day 1, Tuesday 17th March

Bouquets and Centrepieces: A Signature Floral Design Workshop with Trille Floral

Designed for florists seeking to refresh and elevate their bouquet and centrepiece work, this immersive one-day workshop offers a refined exploration of contemporary floral design.

Guided by Trille Floral’s signature loose and natural aesthetic, you’ll learn to create elegant, thoughtfully composed designs rooted in the core principles of floral design. This workshop blends creativity with technique, giving you the confidence to approach your work with renewed clarity and intention.

In the morning session, you’ll focus on crafting the perfect bouquet. From flower selection and colour palette to stem length and overall composition, every element is explored in detail to help you achieve balance, movement, and cohesion in your designs.

The afternoon session shifts to foam-free centrepieces, designed in GAIA vessels. Building on the principles learned earlier in the day, you’ll refine your understanding of balance, proportion, and scale, while thoughtfully working with colour, texture, and form to create elevated centrepiece designs.

The day also includes a dedicated Q&A session with Cara, offering insight into her creative journey and business growth. Cara will share how she built a distinctive brand and grew an engaged social media community of over 115,000 followers.

Expect a day of inspiration, practical learning, and creative growth – leaving you with new skills, fresh perspective, and the confidence to take your floral work to the next level.

Day 2, Wednesday 18th March

Large Scale Floral Design: A Signature Workshop with Trille Floral

Created for florists ready to step confidently into large-scale work, this immersive workshop focuses on designing and executing impactful floral installations with clarity, intention, and refined detail.

Working in groups under Cara’s expert guidance, you’ll design collaboratively to construct a series of large-scale installations, including a statement floral arch with complementary ground florals, as well as overhead hanging designs. Each piece is approached with the signature Trille Floral aesthetic – bold yet natural, expressive yet considered.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn how to translate creative vision into reality using foam-free, sustainable techniques. Cara will guide you through the entire process, from planning mechanics and understanding structural logistics, to installing and refining the final designs. Emphasis is placed on creating work that feels impactful and expansive, without compromising on craftsmanship, intention, or sustainability.

This workshop is ideal for florists looking to expand their skill set, build confidence with large installations, and gain practical insight into the creative and technical processes behind show-stopping floral work.

Expect hands-on learning, collaborative creativity, and the knowledge needed to approach large-scale floral design with confidence and purpose.

UK and NZ photographer Emily Rose Hamilton will be in attendance to capture both days in full, as well as personal portfolio shots for each attendee. Hi-res imagery from the days will be made available to all attendees following the event for use in their portfolios and on social media. A delicious British grazing table will be provided by local caterer Wild Fig for lunch on each day, and hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout.

What’s the venue like?

Minerva Vines is a place where heritage, artistry, and nature converge. Set against the rolling Bath countryside just five miles from the city centre, the estate offers a unique blend of English elegance and Mediterranean warmth.

The Orangery at Minerva Vines is a brand new, elegant and highly versatile glasshouse structure, nestled amongst the peace and tranquillity of a vineyard. The vast, bright space transitions seamlessly to an open-air setting via the connected terrace and offers a breath-taking setting for weddings, events and editorial shoots. Here, the vineyard is the centrepiece, framed by 360° views of rolling hills, the city of Bath in the distance, and an ancient woodland fort that crowns the horizon. This panorama offers a setting like no other, creating a natural stage for unforgettable moments.
