The workshop will be led by our founders; Jen from Liberty Lane Flowers, an experienced wedding and event florist working across the UK and Europe, and Jess, a creative marketeer and former wedding floristry business owner.
Date: Tuesday 8th – Wednesday 9th October 2024
Location: Hutton Wandesley Stables, York
Price: £770 - £1,280 per person, depending on ticket type and accommodation option
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is for professional floral designers of all levels of experience and ability who want to improve their floristry knowledge, skills and expertise as well as their sense of confidence and self esteem. The retreat will be especially useful to those looking to expand their portfolio, and their understanding of both small and large scale design in a natural, seasonal and abundant style.
What will the workshop consist of?
Tuesday:-
For those attending for the full retreat, the event will begin at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon with welcome drinks and canapes served in the beautiful walled garden of the Hutton Wandesley Estate, followed by a vibrant and seasonal three course dinner. After this, we will settle down with a glass of wine for a candid and informal business Q&A with Jess and Jennie where there will be the opportunity to talk openly about your business challenges, hopes and dreams in a safe and comfortable space.
Accommodation for the night will be provided in The Stables, with ensuite twin and superking rooms available. Please remember to select the room you would like when booking your place at the workshop.
Wednesday:-
Our day will begin with a delicious breakfast at 8.30am, before we move outside and are joined by those attendees who are part of the 'day-only' experience. We'll start in the Glasshouse and spend the first part of the day creating natural, seasonal arrangements for an abundant tablescape design. We will design in GAIA vessels and each of your individual designs will be yours to take home with you at the end of the day. Flowers will be provided by some of our most favourite British growers to give the quintessential garden-inspired 'GAIA' feel to our designs.
After a break for a Mediterranean style sharing lunch, the afternoon will resume in the Glasshouse where you will be building an impactful, large scale floral installation using sustainable foam-free mechanics.
During the afternoon, internationally acclaimed digital and film photographer Georgina Harrison will then take professional headshots of each attendee, having also been on hand to capture the rest of the day in full. Hi-res imagery from the workshop will be made available to all attendees following the event for use in their portfolios and on social media.
All of our delicious food across the two days will be provided by local caterer Pastelle Kitchen and Events. Hot and cold refreshments will also be available throughout the day on Wednesday.
