Description

Introducing our first SOLSTICE workshop… SPRING

Taking place in April and designed with awakenings, rebirth and growth in mind; not only for nature but for us and our businesses. SOLSTICE is designed to immerse you in seasonal creativity and provide you with supportive, expert tuition to re-energise your love of natural floral design.

Join us for a full day of practical floristry tuition with the opportunity to design in a range of GAIA vessels, as well creating more challenging and inspiring large-scale installations. Our workshop will be led by our founders; Jen from Liberty Lane Flowers, an experienced wedding and event florist working across the UK and Europe, and Jess, a creative marketeer and former wedding floristry business owner.

Date: Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Location: Cornwell Manor, Cotswolds, UK

Price: £600

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is for floral designers of all levels of experience and ability who enjoy natural, seasonal and abundant styles of floristry. The day will be especially useful to those looking to expand their portfolio, and their knowledge of both small and large scale foam-free designing, but we also encourage those with little floristry experience to attend and start their journey into seasonal floral design.

What will the workshop consist of?

The day will begin from 10am and finish at approximately 4pm. Jen and Jess will lead your tuition, and you will spend the day creating natural and abundant tablescape designs, and a statement, large scale floral installation in the iconic Ballroom of Cornwell Manor. Seasonal Spring flowers will be provided by some of our most favourite British growers to give the quintessential garden-inspired 'GAIA' feel to our designs.

Cotswolds and destination photographer Chloe Ely will be in attendance to capture the day in full, as well as personal portfolio shots for each attendee. Hi-res imagery from the day will be made available to all attendees following the event for use in their portfolios and on social media.

A delicious, seasonal three course lunch will be provided by local caterer Miss Ingredient, and hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day.

What’s the venue like?

Cornwell Manor is a luxury wedding venue in the Cotswolds, known for its high end weddings and its feature in the classic film 'The Holiday'. Cornwell Manor and the surrounding privately owned hamlet is on a 2,000 acre estate located near Chipping Norton on the Oxfordshire-Gloucestershire borders. It is in one of the most beautiful areas of the Cotswolds, and on the doorstep of Daylesford Organic, where you will find our own GAIA Vessels stocked in their interiors store.

The majority of our day will be spent designing within Cornwell Manor’s Ballroom, and (weather permitting!) its adjoining private walled garden. Designed by Clough Williams-Ellis in the late 1930’s, the Ballroom is a unique and elegant space, complete with a minstrel’s gallery, carved oak fireplace and large gilded mirrors, providing us with the perfect classical and romantic backdrop.

How much does the workshop cost?

A ticket to attend the workshop costs £600 per person. Payments can be made in two parts; with a £250 deposit being paid now via the website and the remainder of the payment being taken via invoice in March.

How do I secure my place?

There are 12 spaces available for this workshop. You can book your place on the day by simply adding a ticket to your basket and paying your deposit at checkout.

You can read the full terms regarding payments, refunds and exchanges here.

What else do I need to know?

All tuition, demonstration, flowers, foliage and sundries (including your own GAIA Vessel to take home!) will be provided for you, but we encourage you to bring your favourite pair of snips or secateurs.

Parking is available on site and we can happily provide you with directions from the nearest train station, if needed, as well as recommendations for accommodation.
